Pigeon Valencia Figurita: characteristics and information about the breed

The Valencia Figurita Pigeon is a bizarre breed from Spain. It was developed over many years of selective breeding and actually originated in Valencia, Spain.

This is a fairly old breed, originally bred hundreds of years ago. It is believed that these birds, or their ancestors, were introduced by the Moors during their occupation (which ended in 1492).

The breed is promoted by the Valencian Figurita Club and the Italian Owl Club in the United States, and in the Netherlands by the Figurita Club in the Netherlands. In Germany, the breed is promoted by the Figurita-Movchen-Club Deutschland.

In fact, the Valencian Figurita, as well as other breeds of domestic pigeons, are descendants of the Rock Pigeon. The breed was threatened with extinction in the 20th century, during the reign of General Franco.

Appearance of the Valencian figurita pigeon

The Valencian Pigeon Figurita is a smaller bird. And it is one of the smallest of the many weird breeds of pigeons. Available in a wide variety of colors.

The most common colors are ash red, black, blue, blue and grizzle red, brown, silver, yellow and white. It is also displayed on the pattern panel, in the receipt and on the board.

These birds have bright eyes, a pointed, angular head, and a well-defined breast with ruffled breast feathers. The average size of these birds is about 12 centimeters.
