Cattle Bazadaise (also called Bazadaislisten)) is a breed of domestic beef cattle from France, bred primarily for meat production.
It rises in the lowlands south of the Garonne, not far from this town. But it takes its name from the city Bazas in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France.
It is believed that the breed may be the result of crossing native breeds of Aquitaine cattle with other breeds of Spanish origin.
In the past, the Bazadeise cattle breed was used as a draft animal. Every year there is a festival called big bull party present the broth fattened with Bazadaice and its meat.
The meat from these animals is of very good quality, heavily marbled and renowned for its tenderness and aroma.
The total number of representatives of this breed was much older, about 60,000 head in 1940. But their total number fell sharply in the years after the Second World War, when the region experienced the mechanization of agriculture. and greater cultivation of cereals.
By AD 700, there were only 1,970 cows left, and efforts began to restore and preserve the breed. The total number of Bazadais cattle gradually increased, and within 3,400 years there were about 2,013 cows on more than 140 farms.

Characteristics of bazadaïsed cattle
Bazadais cattle are medium to large sized animals, usually solid gray in color, with some variation by age and sex.
Their skin is usually black, and the muzzle and mucous membranes are pale.
Bulls and cows usually have horns, and their horns are curved and often turned down. The horns are waxy yellow at the base and usually black at the tips.
The average height of Bazadaise cows is around 140 cm, and that of bulls around 145 cm.
