Cattle in Tanks: Characteristics, Uses, and Complete Breed Information

Lohani cattle are a breed of draft cattle. They are mainly found in the Loralai region of Baluchistan province and Dera Ismail Khan in the North West Federal District province of Pakistan.

Lohani cattle belong to the zebu cattle breed. And they are commonly found in the hilly regions of Pakistan and India. The exact origin of this cattle breed is unknown.

But the breed is believed to have originated from Lorali in Pakistan. These animals are adapted to survive here, as they have relatively long legs to overcome the uneven hills (which are usually between 3,000 and 10,000 feet) and are small in stature.

This breed of cattle is also called Acchai cattle on the northwest border of Pakistan, where these animals are found in large numbers.

Lohani cattle were originally working animals and were used for agricultural and transportation tasks. But now they are also used as dairy animals.

They are generally very hardy and active animals, well adapted to their place of origin. They can do well in Loralai and similar hilly areas. Learn more about the Cattle Bin breed below.
