Sussex cattle are a breed of beef cattle from England that are primarily raised for meat production. The breed comes from the lands of Sussex, Surrey and Kent in the southeast of England.
Today, it is a very popular cattle breed around the world, especially in English-speaking countries. Sussex cattle are indeed an ancient breed of cattle. They are descended from draft bulls used for a long time on the Weald. But the breed did not develop seriously until the 1800s.
Since then, they have been selectively bred to form the modern meat breed that is now used for meat production in many parts of the world. They resemble many cattle breeds native to southern England.

Characteristics of Sussex Cattle
Sussex cattle are medium-sized animals with dark reddish brown coats and creamy white tails. They have a relatively long body. The breed is naturally horned, but polled animals are also bred.
They are suitable for both cold winters and hot summers. Because they have a thin summer coat and lots of sweat glands, but in the winter they grow a thick coat.
The average height of bulls at the withers is around 145 cm, that of cows around 135 cm and bulls weigh on average around 950 kg.
