Brecknock Hill Cheviot sheep are a very old breed of domestic sheep originating in Wales.
It is also known by other names such as Brecon Cheviot and Sunnybridge Cheviot. This is a very old breed, born about 400 years ago, but not recognized until the mid-1850s.
Brecknock Hill Cheviot sheep are the result of crossbreeding with Welsh Mountain, Cheviot and Leicester breeds of sheep. These crosses made Brecknock Hill and Sennybridge sheep what they are today.
Purebred Brecknock Hill sheep are all colors except spotted. They tend to be naturally small like their ancestors. And the vast majority of them 23 inches tall are cut.

Brecknock Hill Cheviot Sheep Characteristics
The Brecknock Hill Cheviot sheep is a small animal. They are mostly white. They have a white face and erect ears.
The legs are also white, and behind the ears there is a woolen ruff. No hair on face, legs below knees or hocks.
Usually rams and sheep are polled, but sometimes there are also horned rams.
